Oneida resident Chuck Fieldson clinched his second Mens Over-55 Cruiser Class National Championship Series title on Labor Day weekend at a race in Louisville, Ky. Fieldson has also won five career regional championships and six New York State titles. He also is the founder for the National BMX race team Stylin’ which helps introduce kids to the sport.

Amanda Hatfield, left, and her husband Joe of Oneida, completed the Syracuse IronMan 70.3 Sunday. Amanda finished third in her agegroup to qualify for the 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas in 2012. Joe finished 7th in his agegroup with a time of 4:50:12, but missed qualification by one spot. There were close to 1000 competitors and 710 finishers at the event.
